I have been putting a lot more time into writing lately and ended up finishing this first draft a little sooner than expected. Now the revisions begin, I ran over the word count for young adult fantasy by about 5,000 words, so I will try to trim that down during the revision. I’m hoping I don’t have to cut too much out in order to get there.
The rare, blue Vaeranite crystals are found deep within the lower caves of Mekkinspire. Their unique properties allow them to focus light that travels through them. When utilized properly, the bright sunlight of the star, Versoh, can be focused and projected from the crystal into a fine, blue beam of light. These are used in a chain of beams from crystal to crystal to illuminate the caves that the Kavekkians use as their homes.
Added a first short synopsis of the overall story:
A young woman finds herself lost on an alien world, without knowledge of how she got there or how to return. With seemingly no way to get home, she resigns herself to building a new life, befriending one of the two intelligent species that are at odds with each other. Though her curious and sometimes mischievous nature gets her into more trouble than she bargained for, leading to adventures on other worlds, across the universe and beyond.

I have been working on Bewilderness from concept to outline for about 5 months to where I am now with the first draft. I hope to have the first draft completed by the end of July so that I can then begin revisions. I plan to update this site as often with progress, occasionally some artwork, and some story information here about some of the characters and worlds that they are a part of in the story.
